Just about two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of competing in one of the biggest BJJ tournaments of my life – the 2024 ADCC World Championships.

Without exaggeration, the talent pool for this -66kg division at ADCC 2024 is as deep as it has ever been. Every name is a championship-caliber grappler who had to rise above a field of hungry contenders just to make it here.

Nicholas Meregali is one of the boldest, and most confident athletes in the sport of jiu-jitsu today. With that confidence he is not afraid to make predictions and declare statements that often illicit a rather significant response from his competitors, fans, and the media alike.

The 2024 ADCC field at -99kg is complete, with all 16 invitations being set with the addition of Nicholas Meregali. Meregali won a silver and bronze medal in his debut ADCC performance and since then has set himself apart as one of the best no-gi athletes on Earth. He enters the tournament as one of the biggest favorites for double gold in the event.

Two former IBJJF World Champions are talking about a potential series of super fights, with Felipe Pena laying down the challenge to Nicholas Meregali on Instagram. UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 took place tonight at the UFC Apex and delivered with high-level grappling action headlined by Craig Jones and Felipe Pena, with Craig winning by escape time over the former ADCC absolute champion. In the co-main event, UFC veterans Glover Teixeira and Anthony rematched from their 2020 UFC bout, with Teixiera winning by decision. Nick Rodriguez defeated three men in the same night, including Dan Manasoiu in the finals, to win the $30,000 grand prize. Also on the card, Nicholas Meregali defeated Cyborg Abreu, Helena Crevar won in dominant fashion, and Roman Bravo-Young grappled Alex Perez to a draw.
