IBJJF Announces Nicholas Meregali Will Compete In Jiu-Jitsu Con Grand Prix
New Wave Jiu-Jitsu fighter Nicholas Meregali will be the final entrant of the IBJJF Grand Prix, an 8-man tournament for $40,000
The IBJJF has announced the final entrants to the IBJJF Absolute Grand Prix, an 8-man open weight tournament hosting many of the top-tier black belts competing for $40,000.
The most surprising and impactful entrant is Nicholas Meregali, the 2022 IBJJF World Open Class champion and 2023 Pans double gold medalist. Francisco Lo and Horlando Monteiro also join as the final athletes in the field. All of the action will go down Sept. 1 as part of the Jiu-Jitsu Con.

- Fellipe Andrew
- Gutemberg Pereira
- João Gabriel Rocha
- Horlando Monteiro
- Francisco Lo
Meregali is an intriguing addition to the star-studded tournament. He and Victor Hugo may finally get their chance to settle who is the best gi athlete in jiu-jitsu. He also has had rivalries with Kaynan Duarte and Gutemberg Pereira in the past.
The IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Con will also feature a slate of super-fights, featuring World champions and medalists.
