The IBJJF Pans kick off tomorrow and there's tons of action for fans to enjoy all week, including some very deep colored belt brackets. Matches will be streaming exclusively on FloGrappling, with everything running through this weekend when black belts hit the mats.

The IBJJF European Championships are rolling, with brown belts taking the mat on Wednesday and black belts on Friday & Saturday, and the purple belts put on a great show to begin the week. There were tons of impressive performances, great battles, and wicked finishes that all point to these up-and-comers being some of the brightest prospects in jiu-jitsu. The open classes, the most prestigious brackets of them all, were won by DreamArt's Jeferson Santos and Sigma Jiu-Jitsu's Nikolett Kis - both emphatically winning by submission in the finals.

The 2024 IBJJF World Championships are kicking off, and while most attention is going to the black belts on Saturday & Sunday, there will be a ton of amazing action in the colored belt divisions. The purple belts schedule will be:

Kaynan Duarte ran the gauntlet to win the IBJJF Absolute No-Gi Grand Prix, defeating Giancarlo Bodoni in the final by points in a great performance for the Atos champion. Duarte defeated Haisam Rida and Dante Leon on his way to the final in a night where Atos and AOJ went undefeated. With the victory, he is the first to win an IBJJF absolute GP in both gi and no-gi. After the match, Kaynan called out Nicholas Meregali for a rematch from their 2023 WNO bout.

The IBJJF has announced the full card for the IBJJF No-Gi Absolute Grand Prix, happening February 29th in Costa Mesa, CA. The action will be featuring black belt world champions Tainan Dalpra and Jamil Hill-Taylor, as well as star colored belts Sarah Galvao, Mia Funegra, Nata Tenca, and more.

Every year brings a new crop of colored belt world champions and medalists, a group that has won the toughest tournament possible at their current rank and proven ready for higher levels of challenge. Below is a list of the 2023 IBJJF World Champions that have been promoted to the next highest rank since winning their bracket. The list will be updated every few days for the next few months to reflect ongoing promotions.

Day two of the 2023 IBJJF World Championships has concluded and champions have been crowned in nearly every colored belt divisions for male and female athletes. On Friday, juvenile athletes, blue and brown belt women, and purple belt men competed, with a standout performances from double gold medalist brown belt Kauane Ramos da Silva standing as the most impressive feat of the day.

Dream Art athletes shone once more on Day 3 of the 2023 IBJJF Pan Championships on Friday, March 24. The male purple belts were the center of attention today, as they were the only adult division athletes to take the mats.

Atos standout super heavyweight Nico Maglicic locked up double gold in the brown belt divisions on the second day of the 2023 IBJJF Pan Championships, defeating four of his six opponents via submission and racking up points along the way. That marks Maglicic’s second and third Pans gold as a brown belt, he took absolute gold at the tournament in 2022 after earning silver in the category.

Training for just over three years at Unity Jiu-Jitsu under the inimitable Murilo Santana, Laura Kolm already has a laundry list of accomplishments on her resume. A blue belt world champion, a European champion, and Pans champion, Kolm has build a game around the use of sleeve control through variations of lasso, spider guard, and collar-sleeve that makes her a nightmare for her opposition.

One of the deepest women’s divisions of the tournament, the female purple belt lightweight category coming to Pans is loaded with some of the top rising prospects in jiu-jitsu.

Atos Jiu-Jitsu has been at the epicenter of the jiu-jitsu world for more than a decade. Andre Galvao’s academy has been the nurturing ground for a plethora of World Champions across various rulesets. Atos athletes have swarmed the top of podiums at most major events for the last five years, including IBJJF and ADCC.

Natã Tenca of Almeida Jiu-jitsu won the Purple Belt Heavyweight division in impressive fashion with 3 out of his 4 matches ending in submission. To top off his performance in the Heavyweight division, Natã also competed in the Open Class division where he narrowly missed securing Double-Gold at the 2023 IBJJF European Championships.
