The stars selected to take part in IBJJF The Crown have reached the final stretch of their preparations for the tournament's debut, which will be presented by FloGrappling at the famous Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA.

Gabrieli Pessanha has accomplished a lot of firsts in 2023. The first woman to ever win the open class three times at IBJJF Worlds, and in a row no less. She's the first woman to ever submit her way through both brackets to double gold at Worlds. Now, she has the opportunity to be the first to win the IBJJF's Crown super-heavyweight division, and continue to etch her name into the history books.

The IBJJF has announced that Tayane Porfirio will step in to replace Nathiely de Jesus at The Crown, in the super-heavyweight division of the premier event. She will join Gabrieli Pessanha, Amy Campo, and Melissa Cueto in the bracket. All of the action will be going down exclusively on FloGrappling on November 19th, live from Long Beach, CA.

One of the most talented women in the super heavyweight division has returned to IBJJF competition after serving a four year suspension for doping changers.

The IBJJF European Championships returns later this month, and with it, the 2023 IBJJF grand slam season. The four major events that make up the grand slam — Euros, Pans, Brasileiros and Worlds — are some of the most renowned in the jiu-jitsu universe. But to win each of them in the same year is a feat that few have ever managed, especially at the black belt level.

The IBJJF Grand Slam refers to the four major IBJJF Championships that take place throughout the year and around the world. In order of occurrence they include: Europeans, Pan Americans, Brasileiros (or Brazilian Nationals) and finally, the IBJJF World Championships.

The 2021 IBJJF World Championships are just a few days away. The weight class brackets are out, and the athletes are plotting their paths to gold. One of the biggest storylines this year has been the absence of Buchecha, creating a vacuum in the men’s absolute division, which many of the best in the world will be eager to fill.

The main brackets for the 13th Edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship are now finalized, as each of the country qualifiers have concluded. Many of the Brazilian athletes hoping to represent their country in the main brackets had to fight through deep divings among some of the most reputable opposition in the entire roster just to earn a spot in the World Pro tournament.

The 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Pro kicks off on Sunday, November 14 in the UAE. A truly international event with significant cash prizes at stake, the World Pro attracts decorated veterans and hopeful up and comers from across the globe. The title of World Pro Champion is one of the most coveted in all of jiu-jitsu; it’s accompanied by prestige, national pride, and thousands of dollars in prize money.

With Leandro Lo, Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa, Micael Galvao, Rousimar Palhares and William Tackett, BJJBet’s middleweight no-gi Grand Prix was one of the most anticipated events of the summer. The show also featured a number of IBJJF World champions in gi superfights, with Matheus Gabriel, Tayane Porfirio and Nicholas Meregali all stepping onto the mat.

The weigh-ins for the BJJ Bet middleweight no-gi tournament took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with all eight competitors making weight.

Nicholas Meregali is in the main event of BJJBet alongside Rider Zuchi, who is replacing Felipe Pena on short notice.
