Luiz Panza is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Born on February 2, 1990, Luiz Panza trains under coach Leo Vieira and represents the Checkmat team based in Long Beach, California.A super-heavyweight competitor, he is an IBJJF World No-Gi champion (2016) and a two-time IBJJF Pan champion (2014, 2016). He received his black belt in 2012 from Marcos Barbosa of Barbosa Jiu-Jitsu before joining Checkmat in 2014. Panza is a noted leglock specialist and is known for his high submission rate, with 78% of his black belt career wins coming by way of submission.
