Adele is #1 in the world. 

Right now, the decision is between Adele and Ffion. If Lis Clay can double gold again at Worlds, she will also enter this conversation (where she was one year ago before taking a hiatus). Adele has had an insane 2024, one of the best from any grappler in recent years. This year alone Adele beat the grapplers now ranked 4, 6, 7, 10, 14, and 15. We have to compare that to Ffion's wins, which are against 4, 6, 13, & 14 (and that’s across her black belt career). While Adele did lose to Ffion as a brown belt in 2022, it seems pretty obvious she has improved dramatically and the body of work has finally become undeniable.
