Four Titans Set To Collide at IBJJF Heavyweight Grand Prix
Four Titans Set To Collide at IBJJF Heavyweight Grand Prix
The big men will throw down for a cash prize of $20,000 on November 13!
The IBJJF has announced the completed heavyweight Grand Prix coming to jiu-jitsu con on Nov 13, and it’s certainly a clash of the titans.
On the left-hand side of the bracket, we’ll see Six Blades representative Victor Hugo take on Atos standout Gustavo Batista. Despite his numerous accolades - including weight and absolute IBJJF black belt World titles - Batista will likely give up at least 75lbs in this bout as he typically finds himself competing in the medium-heavy to heavyweight range.
The duo have never faced off against one another before , and one has to hope we’ll see Batista’s incredible pressure passing go head to head with the masterful guard of Victor Hugo.

On the right half of the bracket, we’ll then find 2018 World Champ Mahamed Aly take on a familiar foe in multiple-time Pan and European champion Fellipe Andrew. Currently, their rivalry stands 2-0 with Andrew taking both wins – the last of which being a one-sided thrashing that saw Andrew take the win 18-2 on points. Surely the sting of that last performance will add some serious motivation to Aly’s mentality ahead of the tournament.
