2025 is already heating up, as some big names are putting the gi back on and entering the IBJJF European Championships. Action will be going down in late January, live from Lisbon, Portugal exclusively on FloGrappling when the top competitors try to begin their year with strong momentum. In total, there are 15 IBJJF World Champions in the mix at Euros - including ten 2024 World gold medalists & 5 of 6 Crown champs!

The first division that we have to talk about is men's featherweight which has 5 major entries so far - 2024 IBJJF World Champion Meyram Maquine, 2024 IBJJF World & Crown Champion Diego Pato, 2024 ADCC World Champion Diogo Reis, 2024 IBJJF Pan Champion Kennedy Maciel, and 2024 IBJJF No-Gi World Champion Cole Abate. We are basically guaranteed fireworks once these guys hit the mat and with more tough guys in the mix this is one bracket that no fan of jiu-jitsu should miss.

Another notable entry is Ffion Davies, a 2-time IBJJF World Champion who has been out of major gi competition since 2023's Mundials. She's back in the mix at lightweight and competing on her home continent. Also entered is Poland's Adam Wardzinski - who just last year became Europe's first male black belt world champion in the gi.

Tainan Dalpra also returns to Europeans in 2025. After a disappointing end to his 2024 IBJJF season at both Worlds & The Crown, this is a key tournament for Dalpra to regain momentum in his gi career - and in his way will be former foe Andy Murasaki who took the 2024 Crown by forfeit (when Dalpra was forced to medically withdraw from the final) and 2024 World champion Jackson Nagai at middleweight after Tainan lost in the quarterfinals by disqualification.
