The bout will be on the main card of Tezos WNO 19: Meregali vs Duarte presented by Fat Tire on Thursday, August 10 in Austin, TX at the Palmer Event Center.

Dante Leon is set to return to the Tezos WNO stage on August 10, where he’ll take his shot for the vacant lightweight title against B-Team’s Ethan Crelinsten.

Leon is coming in hot after a career-best outing on Tezos WNO, defeating Ruan Alvarenga via rear naked choke, scoring one of the quickest submissions in the history of the Tezos WNO lightweight division.

Leon recently moved down to the 155 lb category after previously floating between the 170 lb and 185 lb divisions. His move to lightweight has proven successful so far; in addition to his victory over Alvarenga — putting him in title contention — he won an IBJJF No-Gi Worlds title at lightweight in December 2022.

Leon’s opponent, Ethan Crelinsten, has had a similar trajectory on Tezos WNO. He lost his first two bouts in some of the event’s most dynamic matches — both against Kade Ruotolo — before returning to the event in November 2022, where he landed an impressive rear naked choke victory over Fabricio Andrey. Crelinsten’s explosive wrestling, versatile guard and constricting back control game make compelling puzzles for Leon.

The Tezos WNO lightweight title previously belonged to Kade Ruotolo, who earned the belt at the 2021 WNO Championship. Ruotolo, now competing at 170 lbs, has sized out of the division, vacating the title.
