30 Minutes with Rafael Lovato Jr: the Lifelong Pursuit of Greatness
There is no question that Rafael Lovato Jr. is one of the most prolific and successful professional combats sports athletes of all time.
A lifelong martial-artist, Lovato wrote his name in the history books back in 2007 when he became the second ever American to win an IBJJF World title; he's since gone on to win Brasileiros, compete at ADCC, and is currently in title contention for Bellator, one of the largest MMA organizations in the World.
Though his competitive accolades are numerous, Lovato's legacy is perhaps best defined by his mindset, succinctly displayed below:
"It's not just about titles....For me it's longevity, being able to do what I love for as long as possible....if I can still jump out there and compete and go against some of the best guys, that's the fun part.... but I'm going to compete in every master division that exists all the way until they bury me in the grave. So you'll see me from masters one, two, all the way to master eight. I'll be doing this for as long as possible.
