Robert Jimenez Brown Belt Promotion Ceremony
Over the weekend one of the most promising prospects in jiu-jitsu achieved a new rank.
Roberto Jimenez was promoted to brown belt by Alliance leader Jacare Cavalcante and his father, Raul Jimenez, capping an incredible career a purple belt career. The promotion came slightly ahead of schedule, and due to the IBJJF regulations regarding time spent at each belt rank, Roberto will need to wait to compete at IBJJF events until sometime mid-2019.
But it's unlikely Roberto will take any time off – he will simply be seen at other events – including ADCC trials.
"I felt like I learned a lot as a purple… it was short…but once I got those mistake fixed, and saw what I needed to do to, I felt ready for the next belt. I’m going to focus on ADCC trials now."
