NoGi Fight Of The Night: Lucas Pinheiro Silences Joao Somalia In Heated Battle

In what was the black belt Fight of the Night at Fight to Win Pro 17, Lucas Pinheiro squared off against CheckMat's Joao Pedro Somalia. The match was back and forth and even saw both competitors fly off the stage at one point. However, it was the Bad Boy who seemed to be slowly chipping away at Somalia. 

Lucas Pinheiro, who represented CheckMat as early as a few months ago, eventually found a submission after fighting off a few deep heel hook attempts by Somalia. He passed straight to mount and cinched up a head and arm choke that forced his former teammate to tap.

The whole match was very contentious, but the emotion erupted when the now Alex Martins BJJ representative hushed his old CheckMat coaches after getting the tap. Even after the match tensions were so high that a brawl almost erupted and several coaches had to be escorted out.
