The ADCC World Championships are now just three weeks away, and many of the athletes qualified or invited to compete in the anticipated biggest event in history are taking their last chances to test their games on the competition mats. Plus, a hero of jiu-jitsu continues to impress on one of the biggest stages of mixed martial arts. See all of the grappling results from the weekend below!

Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida remains perfect in his mixed martial arts career after earning his fourth victory at ONE Championship in Singapore on Friday.

The 13-time IBJJF World Champion secured a heel hook victory one minute four seconds into the first round against Kirill Grishenko, marking the fastest stoppage of his career.

Buchecha moves to 4-0 with four finishes in his MMA career. In a post match interview, he dedicated the match to Leandro Lo, his long-time friend who was shot and killed earlier this month in Sao Paulo.

Earlier on the ONE Championship card, Tommy Langaker earned a $50,000 bonus with a decision victory over Renato Canuto in a no-gi grappling match.

This victory answers many of the questions surrounding Langaker’s preparedness for the upcoming 2022 ADCC World Championships. Outside of his successful qualifying run at the ADCC European Trials, Langaker had gone mostly untested in no-gi grappling. A win over Canuto, an ADCC veteran and no-gi world champion, demonstrates that Langaker’s abilities are on par to contend in the ridiculously deep 77 kg division at ADCC in three weeks.

Langaker was one of several ADCC invitees and qualifiers who took the competition mats this weekend in preparation for the massive tournament.

At Fight to Win 209 on Friday night, Joshua Cisneros defeated Keith Krikorian in a rematch from the 2022 ADCC West Coast Trials. Cisneros controlled the pace of the match from top positioning, utilizing his black hole entry to take Krikorian’s back, and offering several submission attempts.

This was a significant win for Cisneros, as Krikorian submitted him earlier this year in the final of the 66 kg division at trials. Both athletes are bound for the 66 kg bracket at ADCC in September.
