Two of jiu-jitsu's most compelling grapplers will collide as Nicky Ryan & PJ Barch join the roster of the latest edition of FloGrappling's Who's Number One (WNO) on April 30.
The headlining bout features Craig Jones versus Tye Ruotolo; the pair will be supported by a battle of two jiu-jitsu legends in Rafael Lovato. Jr and Gilbert 'Durinho' Burns in the co-main event of the evening. Nicky & PJ will occupy the number three spot on the stacked lineup.
Setting Up Nicky Ryan vs PJ Barch
April 30th will mark Nicky Ryan's third appearance on WNO. Fans may remember that Ryan was originally scheduled to face off against Roberto Jimenez on Feb. 26, but was forced off the card due to injury; thankfully it seems that whatever ailment Ryan incurred has subsided and the no. 4 ranked 170lb grappler is ready to roll once more.
It will be Nicky's first time competing since the Danaher Death Squad moved their training camp to Puerto Rico earlier this year and he will no doubt what to show off his efforts on the biggest stage in jiu-jitsu.
Ryan's last performance in October of 2020 saw him take home the win with a quick heel hook finish over NCAA champion wrestler Tony Ramos at our October event.

Meanwhile, PJ Barch is coming off a closely contested decision loss to Andrew Wiltse sustained at WNO: Gordon Ryan vs Roberto Jimenez on Feb. 26.
The 10th planet grappler remains ranked in the top 10 170lb ranking and stands to make significant gains in the division should he take home the win over Ryan.
Barch has won team competitions alongside his 10th Planet teammates such as Quintet and Subversiv, also winning the Onnit Invitational, Finishers Show The Art and Sapateiro tournaments as an individual. PJ also holds multiple wins over both Jason Rau and William Tackett, plus wins over Vitor Shaolin, Victor Silverio and David Garmo.
