Two of the best women in the 145 lb division will face off on the main card at Who’s Number One: Gordon Ryan vs Vagner Rocha on March 26. 

Fight Sports’ Maggie Grindatti will take on Rafaela Guedes of Atos in this premiere matchup between two top-ranked female competitors.

Grindatti, an ADCC trials silver medalist, will try to snap a four-match slide at WNO. She challenged herself in 2020, taking on some of the toughest women in her division, including Elisabeth Clay and Luiza Monteiro. She’s making her second appearance on the WNO mats, and she possesses the strong takedown and passing game that we’ve come to expect from Fight Sports athletes, and she hopes to display that style against Guedes.

“I’m very excited for this match, “Grindatti said. “It has been since purple belt that Rafa and I have met, even moving through the belts almost at the same pace and this time excited to meet in no-gi. I’ve always been a stand up fighter, as she seems to be lately, too, so I think the fans can expect to see the fight start aggressive on the feet and continue aggressive the whole way through.”

Guedes has been quickly climbing the ranks since receiving her black belt in October 2020. The no. 2-ranked 145 competitor is an IBJJF Pan and No-Gi Pan champion, and has recent Fight to Win victories over Ana Carolina Vieira and Lis Clay. She’ll be making her WNO debut against Grindatti.

“I’m sure it will be a great match to watch,” Guedes said. “Maggie is a tough fighter and I respect her, but I will fight to leave with the victory. I’m training everyday with my team to have the best result possible and I will work to come out with the submission.”
