After two days of grueling competition, we've made our way to the 2019 ADCC finals in Anaheim, CA.  Read on for live results from on the ground.

+99kg: Kaynan Duarte vs Nick Rodriguez

Nick Rodriguez had one of the most impressive campaigns in ADCC history.  The blue belt competitor (yes, you read that correctly) defeated Cyborg Abreu by decision in the semifinals, Orlando Sanchez, and Mahamed Aly on his path to the finals.

Kaynan Duarte had an equally demanding rout here, Beating returning champion Buchehca, Yuri Simoes, and Eldar Rafiagave in the earlier rounds

Rodriguez's physicality had been the talk of the event, as he essentially bullied his way into the final with his ultra-aggressive wrestling skills and sheer will to win.

Nicky was able to bring the match to the mat before points were in play, and the agile guard of Kaynan Duarte became the focal point. Early berimbolo attacks and leglock tie-ups from the Brazilian were negated by Rodriguez, and he fired back with a near back take attempt shortly after points came into play, but was unable to secure the position.

The two reset on the feet, and Kaynan was able to turn the tide in his favor by hitting a slick back take off a wrestling scramble. He earned the three points and road out the position for the rest of the match.

-99kg Gordon  Ryan vs Vinicius Ferreira

Gordon Ryan's quest for his second ADCC title was realized after a showcase performance against alliance's Vinicius Ferreira.

The DDS leader won the wrestling exchanges on the feet, taking Ferreira down with a knee tap and then executed a strong pressure passing sequence that led to the mount – and eventually the back. Ryan finished the match with a one-armed RNC.

This match was simply one-way traffic from Gordon Ryan, and the now two-time ADCC champion promised on the microphone that he would return for the absolute division later today.

88kg: Matheus Diniz vs Craig Jones

The rematch between Matheus Diniz and Craig Jones played out very much like their first go: Diniz opted to work at passing from a distance while Craig cycled through various butterfly guard, and close guard attacks. This patterned continued until time expired and that match as forced into overtime.

Craig seemed to be hunting a sequence where he would shoot for an armbar to disguise a leg lock entry, but Diniz was hip to all offerings from the Australian and was able to kick out of danger each time.

ADCC rules meant that Jones was forced to wrestle, putting the match right in Diniz's wheelhouse. Counter-wrestling was the order of the day from the Marcelo Garcia black belt, and he used the sprawl to earn himself two takedown points when he countered Craig's shot, putting the only positive points on the board and being enough to earn the win.

77kg: JT Torres vs Vanger Rocha

Returning ADCC champion JT Torres looked unstoppable the opening rounds of ADCC and the tune remained the same in the 77kg final against fight sports athlete Vagner Rocha.

The key moment came from a wrestling exchange when Vagner tried to counter JT's shot with a standing kimura trap; Torres was able to navigate the danger and drag Vagner down to the mat, eventually taking his back for three points.

Rocha did everything in his power to escape the position, but Torres back control was simply too tight, and the Atos competitor ended the match on Rocha's back, clinching his second ADCC title.

66kg: Kenedy Maciel vs Agusto 'Tanquinho' Mendes

Ignore the score. Despite being 0-0 for the first 18 minutes of regulation, this match was action-packed from the jump.

Both competitors wrestling skills were on full display, and the frenetic pace was never let up.

Shots were me with sprawls and quick-reshots, and both athletes had several near-scores from takedown attempts.

With two minutes left on the clock, Tanqunho hit a slick duck under to obtain standing body lock position shortly after Tanqunho was able to bring the fight to the ground and secured the back mount position for three points and the win.

+60kg Gabi Garcia vs Carina Santi

Gabi Garcia wrote her name in the history books today when she tied Marcelo Garcia for the most ADCC titles won by taking home top honors for the fourth time at the World Championships.

Garcia imposed her will on Santi from the opening bell, dragging the Brazilian down to the mats and smashing her in half guard for the better part of the duration. After Santi was sufficiently cooked by the pressure, Gabi was able to isolate and arm and finish the match with a Kimura.

-60kg Bianca Basilio vs Ffion Davies

Bianca Basilio wasted no time getting this match down to the ground, opting pull guard immediately and accepting the penalty point per ADDC rules.

The gamble paid off as Basilio flexed her well-developed leg lock game, aggressively hunting for heelhooks, and striaght ankle locks before slamming on a brutal toehold attack that finished the match.
