The winners of the 2nd ADCC European Trials earned a ticket to the 2019 ADCC Championship in Los Angeles in September! 

-66kg: Thomas Halpin (Fightsports)

A black belt from Ireland known for his excellent leglock game, Halpin scored four submissions in five matches, two of which came in under 90 seconds by inside heel hook. A rear naked choke in the final put his opponent to sleep and secured his ticket to Los Angeles.

-77kg: Mateusz Gamrot (Czerwony Smok Poznan)

28-year-old polish MMA fighter Mateusz Gamrot is undefeated in 15 fights. He showed off his grappling skills by winning six matches in the 77kg division, five by points and one by submission (kimura).

-88kg: Ben Dyson (Roy Dean)

A well-known competitor of the UK, Dyson has appeared on pro shows such a s Fight 2 Win and Polaris. A Roy Dean black belt who spends extended periods training in San Diego, he showed a varied game in Poland and was able to finish four out of six matches by submission, winning the final with a Japanese neck tie in only 1.16.

-99kg: Meraz Avdoyan (Matrix Jiu Jitsu)

German grappler Meraz Avdoyan won all of his matches by submission without giving up a single point. Representing Matrix Jiu-Jitsu in Kaiserslautern, Avdoyan, who took silver at the ADCC Trials in 2017, even submitted ADCC veteran Kamil Uminski in only 36 seconds! Check out his nice reverse kneebar in the final, it's a thing of beauty.

+99kg: Mateusz Juskowiak (Murowana Goslina Team)

Only three matches for Mateusz Juskowiak, who is an ADCC veteran having competed in the World Championships in 2015.

Women's -60kg: Liwia Gluchowska (Absolute MMA)

Born in Poland but based in Australia, Gluchowska comes from one of the best gyms Down Under, which happens to be the same stable of grapplers as Craig Jones, Kit Dale and her husband Lachlan Giles. An accomplished grappler both gi and no-gi, Gluchowska scored two inside heel hooks en route to gold.

Women's +60kg: Stephanie Egger (Buddy Gym)

Swiss grappler Stephanie Egger is 30 years old and is known primarily for her stint in MMA. But an important part of her martial arts career is the fact she represented her country as an international judo athlete, where she twice faced Ronda Rousey, where they went 1-1.
