Talita Alencar Out of Competition Until Worlds 2019
Talita Alencar told FloGrappling that she would be taking a hiatus from competition due to an upcoming surgery.
Fresh off her gold medal performance at the ADGS Rio last week, 2017 World Champion Talita Alencar told FloGrappling that she would be taking a hiatus from competition due to an upcoming surgery.
Alencar later clarified that she suffers from a deep deviated septum and will need corrective surgery to breathe again normally. "Iit’s going to really help my athletic life; I’m constantly getting sick, sometimes I can’t breathe," she says.
To help raise money to pay for the surgery, Alencar is available for workshops and seminars. She can be contacted via Instagram.
The light featherweight plans to return to competition at the 2019 World Championships, and we wish the young black belt a speedy recovery.
