Hot off his double-gold performance at the IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship, Gordon Ryan has put his name in for the World No-Gi in December.

Even though he's a vocal opponent of the ruleset (surprise surprise, he would prefer if heel hooks were legal) Ryan returned to IBJJF rules tournament in September after almost three years away competing in submission-only and ADCC.

Ryan cruised to gold in both the ultra-heavyweight and absolute division, beating Kaynan Duarte and Max Gimenis en route to becoming "champ champ". 

Even though he freely admits his dislike of training in the gi, Ryan has teased that he will soon make his gi debut. But for now, Ryan will compete in the ultra-heavyweight division (+215lbs / 97.5kg). 

Also signed up for the 2018 IBJJF World No-Gi Championship are names such as Roberto "Cyborg", who Ryan faced at the 2017 ADCC World Championship, ADCC 2015 silver medalist Jared Dopp and Adam Sachnoff of 10th Planet.
