Elite Submission League delivered a stellar show from Tijuana Mexico on Sunday night.
The show was filled with the brightest Mexican talent from purple to black belt who were ready to showcase their skills.
In the main event Sergio Hernandez used his quirky style of grappling to subdue and control his opponent for almost the entire match. Heranadez seem to frustrate Alexis Alducin with some very unconventional positions and a blend of reverse guard work.
Ultimately the ref's decision went to the Baret Submissions black belt Sergio Hernandez and he was adorned with a new ESL championship belt.
Earlier in the night Francisco Iturralde put on an exciting match with Arannick Montero that saw both men fly off the stage on more than one occasion.
'Sinistro' relentlessly attacked submissions throughout the match and although 'Rasta' was able to fend them off at first, it was only a mater of time until one of his attempts stuck.
The end came via a sliding collar choke from the back and notched another impressive submission win for the fan favorite Sinistro.
Rene Borquez won the brown belt mini-tournament in impressive fashion taking out Atos' Pete O'Neal and Fabian Bolanos. And finally in the purple belt grand prix Martin Gonzalez emerged the undisputed victor after dominating his way through the bracket.
Gonzalez and Borquez both proved to be a prospects to keep your eye on coming out of the Latin American region.
