Gracie Barra black belt Victor Silverio will step up and compete in the KASAI Pro 170lb no-gi tournament on August 18, replacing an injured Michael Perez. 

Perez– who placed second in the KASAI Pro 185lb tournament in April this year– was scheduled to return at 170lb but got hurt in training. 

Answering the last-minute call to action is Victor Silverio, unranked at no-gi but no.8 in our gi lightweight rankings. 

Training and competing out of Romulo Barral's Gracie Barra Northridge, Silverio brings an explosive and hyper physical style to the KASAI Pro stage. 

A highly athletic and explosive grappler, Silverio has good wrestling and is extremely hard to score on. Silverio is known more for his gi competition but placed second at the ADCC Trials in Brazil back in 2013. 

KASAI Pro 3 will take place on August 18 in New York and features an 8-man 170lb tournament, three main card no-gi superfights and a stacked undercard of action featuring the best local, national and international talent.
