Tayane Porfirio confirmed her place in the history books by winning the double grand slam: double gold (weight and absolute) at the four major IBJJF tournaments, namely the Europeans, Pans, Brazilian Nationals and Worlds championships. And all of this in her first year of black belt!

Tayane only had one fight in her weight category, but she beat out the likes of Nathiely de Jesus in the final (by submission) and Beatriz Mesquita in the semifinals among others. Nathiely defeated Tayane in the brown belt absolute final last year, giving Tayane plenty of closure on that moment. 

In only her first year as a black belt, Tayane has elevated herself to the position of most successful female black belt in the world.
