The UAEJJF Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in London went down today, with Xande Ribeiro and Jose Junior winning gold.

The fifth and final Grand Slam event of the 2016-2017 season took place in London, UK on March 18. This is the last Grand Slam event before the Abu Dhabi World Pro in April.
Xande Ribeiro submitted Adam Wardzinski of Poland in the final of the -94kg division. The legendary Brazilian heavyweight also submitted Jackson Sousa win a choke from the back in the semifinal.
Jose Junior beat Gabriel Arges in the final of the 110kg division on an even score decided by penalty points. Arges moved up to 110kg division to try to gain an advantage in the overall rankings, but the loss now puts Jose Junior firmly ahead.
Nathiely de Jesus had two matches in the female -70kg division, submitting both of her opponents. She beat Jessica da Silva and Claire-France Thevenon.
Luiza Monteiro also beat two opponents, submitting Maria Asensi and outpointing Cornelia Rossier.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Tour 2017/2018 season begins in Tokyo, Japan, on July 15.
