Nathiely Karoline de Jesus became the female black belt heavyweight gi champion at Fight to Win Pro 27 when she defeated Tammy Griego in the main event of the evening in Austin, Texas.

De Jesus spent much of the match attached to Griego’s back, working for a choke. Griego eventually escaped and worked to pass de Jesus’ guard, but the two soon found themselves in a leg lock battle. In the end, de Jesus submitted her opponent with a toe hold, making her the winner.



In the co-main event, Cleber Luciano won by decision over his opponent, Jean Cartegena.

Fight to Win Pro will return on March 24 when Justin Rader takes on Garry Tonon in Oklahoma City.
