Kade and Tye Ruotolo are two of the brightest young prospects in jiu-jitsu today. The Atos representatives have won just about every tournament they have ever entered, and this weekend at the 2017 IBJJF Kids Pans event in Long Beach, California, was no different.
Competing in the green/orange belt division, the two prolific brothers claimed gold in the middleweight and medium heavyweight weight classes. Kade, the lighter of the two, hit a highlight-reel submission in his first bout: an incredible helicopter arm bar just 30 seconds into the match.
Tye Ruotolo finished his finals match in exciting fashion via kimura at just two minutes into the match.
In fact, the whole family walked away with gold medals and dramatic submissions. Kade and Tye's younger sister, Nya, also looked impressive on the mats as she won her grey belt division. "The Nya-lator" is just 7 years old!
