The final opportunity to qualify for the 2017 ADCC World Championship has been announced. Grapplers with passports from North America will be able to compete in the ADCC West Coast Trials on Saturday, April 15, in Anaheim, California.

Prize money will also be on the line for podium finishers, with $1,500 for first place (in addition to a ticket to Finland for September's World Championship). Second place will get $1,000, and $500 will go to third place.

The event will also feature women's divisions, giving North American women's athletes a chance to qualify for ADCC Worlds.

The ADCC West Coast Trials will be streamed LIVE on FloGrappling, and you can expect plenty of big names to be competing.

Highlights from the ADCC East Coast Trials

The man who defeated Gordon Ryan at the 2015 trials (watch video), Michael Perez of Atos Jiu-Jitsu, has announced he will be at the Anaheim Convention Center and Arena to defend his title as well.

And Tom DeBlass, who has won the trials three straight times, is hinting he may compete again, even though he already qualified this past November.

In addition to the qualifying event, we are being told that there will be two special superfights added to this event, which we will be announced here on FloGrappling the minute they are signed!

Promoter Mo Jassim revealed that he intends to make this the biggest ADCC North American Trials ever by adding the prize money and superfights.

Jassim has been helping ADCC since 2005 and was instrumental in presenting the recent Superfights Series at Studio 540.

Much like the spectacular matches we saw in December, he promises that fans will love the superfights planned for the ADCC West Coast Trials!
