After an epic 30-minute battle, Felipe Pena submitted Gordon Ryan in regulation via choke from the back at Studio 540 in Solana Beach, California, on Saturday.



The two wasted no time diving into action. Pena worked passes nonstop, while Ryan played an equally vicious bottom game. He was able to sweep Pena on occasion and was hunting legs like a madman.

But Pena was well-prepared.



He was able to escape all leg entanglements and generally controlled the pace of the match. Pena passed Gordon's guard twice and had several near backtakes -- one being successful which proved to be the deciding factor. Once Pena accomplished full back control, it was all over. He submitted Ryan with a rear-naked choke in two minutes.
