The Kids pans went down February 14th and showed everyone that the future of BJJ looks very bright. Whether it was teeny-tots no older than 5, or teens that surely challenge adults in their own academies- the skill level was incredible. A few specific things we noticed:

• Takedowns were well practiced. As the US becomes more influential in the gentle art, it’s strong wrestling history also has been making inroads in BJJ. Many of the kids were looking for single and double legs, trips, and bodylock takedowns.
• Transitions for days. We couldn’t believe our eyes with some of the beautiful transitions displayed - technique that was the stuff of seasoned vets was common place.

The passion was real. No matter what the age- these kids were in it to win it. Check out this highlight from the IBJJF. We’ve included one of our favorite matches below as well.
