Jon Blank Replaces PJ Barch In BJJ Stars 15 Grand Prix
Jon 'Thor' Blank has replaced 10th Planet compatriot PJ Barch in the upcoming BJJ Stars 15 middleweight Grand Prix
Jon Blank has agreed to replace PJ Barch in the upcoming BJJ Stars 15 -83kg Grand Prix, with an injury forcing Barch's late withdrawal from the prestigious tournament. BJJ Stars 15 will be going down live exclusively on FloGrappling on April 26th, with some of the best in the world facing off in major matches.
The tournament organizers made the announcement on Instagram on Saturday;
Jon 'Thor' Blank is an incredible replacement for the card, coming in with tons of accomplishments and momentum after a successful return to the mats last year at No-Gi Pans. Blank is a 10th Planet compatriot to PJ Barch so the event will still get a strong representative from one of grappling's best teams. Blank is currently ranked in the top-15 for no-gi middleweights and has placed top-4 at the ADCC World Championships before.
This isn't the only replacement in the Grand Prix. Isaque Bahiense, IBJJF World Champion and head of DreamArt, has also had to withdraw and has been replaced by Rafael Paganini. Paganini has been training with the New Wave jiu-jitsu crew and
The BJJ Stars middleweight grand prix is bringing together eight world class grapplers to compete in a one night tournament for R$50,000. The tournament will be headlined by ADCC Champion Mica Galvão, who won the Super Grand Slam last year, and now also features four top-15 ranked middleweights.
