Meyram Maquine is on the hottest run of his black belt career to date, winning the IBJJF World Championships in the deepest weight class of feather and medaling in the absolute. His strong judo, passing, speed, and timing make him almost impossible to slow down and get meaningful offense against. His last appearance on BJJ Stars saw him make the finals of the featherweight grand prix before falling to Fabricio Andrey. He is ranked #3 at featherweight and #10 pound-for-pound in the gi.
Diogo Reis made his return to the gi with a gold medal performance at the IBJJF Euros after spending the year prior focusing on no-gi. He's a former Pan champion at black belt who has medaled at the World Championship in 2022 & 2023. This season, he is seeking his first ever gi world title - and aims to prove himself as a top pound-for-pound talent against Meyram. He is ranked #2 at light-featherweight and #12 pound-for-pound in the gi.
