GF Team's Julio Cesar Pereira Enters IBJJF Euros In Masters Division
GF Team leader Julio Cesar Pereira has entered IBJJF Euros in the masters divisions
GF Team leader Julio Cesar Pereira has entered IBJJF Euros in the master's divisions, a return to competition for the long-time master of one of Brazilian jiu-jitsu's biggest teams. Pereira, also known as 'Mestre Julio', will be competing in the Master 7 medium-heavy division.
Julio Cesar is the founder of the Grappling Fight Team, and before that was the leader of the Gama Filho team. The Rio-based team has produced great competitors for years, with many locations now existing worldwide.
Mestre Julio is an 8th-degree coral belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, meaning he wears a red & white belt as a signifier of his time and mastery in the art. He is also a black belt in judo. Masters 7 is the oldest IBJJF age designation, with all competitors being over 60 years old.
