Grappling Legend Xande Ribeiro Enters IBJJF European Championships
Grappling legend and hall-of-fame competitor Xande RIberio has officially entered the 2024 IBJJF European Championships
Grappling legend Xande Ribeiro has thrown his name in for the IBJJF European Championships in 2025, marking his return to competition after a few years away after a tentative retirement. Ribeiro has entered Masters 3 heavyweight, and has spoken before about wanting to compete around the World to say goodbye to the fans and friends he has made during his remarkable career.
Xande is one of the greatest competitors in grappling history and is one of the few ever who have won absolute world championships at IBJJF and ADCC Worlds. Ribeiro last competed a handful of times over the last few years, with the last match coming at the 2022 ADCC World Championships. After the match, Ribeiro bowed to the crowd and marked his official retirement in ADCC competition.
The 2025 European Championships will be held in Lisbon, Portugal from Jan 17-25th. The tournament marks the first IBJJF gi major of the year, one of 4, and is expected to draw many of the world's top stars at every belt level. Every match from the event will be streaming exclusively on FloGrappling.
