It's the final day of the 2024 IBJJF No-Gi Worlds and we have the best action for last with some of the best in the world clashing for gold. You can catch every match exclusively on FloGrappling but if you can't tune in - we still have you covered. We have set the men's semifinals, women's finals, and open class finals - with three people still going for double gold.

2024 IBJJF Black Belt No-Gi World Finals Results
The open class finals were dramatic in different ways. For the women, Gabi Pessanha reigns supreme again after latching onto a straight ankle lock and horsing her way to a tap for the double gold. On the men's side, it's a tense ten minutes of hand fighting but ultimately Elder uses a late takedown to score the deciding advantage. The CheckMat champ has now won Worlds twice as a black belt in no-gi.
Heavyweight is up and it's the highly-ranked Felipe Costa taking on the unheralded Faris Benlamkadem in a really interesting clash. Faris is keeping it close but finally ends up surrendering the takedown about halfway through. Once Costa is on top, the pressure is just too much. He breaks through to mount and then the arm-triangle for the tap. He's your latest Six Blades world gold medalist. At ultra-heavy, Lucas Montalvão uses his forward pressure and wrestling to sway the judges - he takes home World gold as a young black belt.
It's a close one through five minutes at medium-heavy, with Wallison facing Francisco Lo. Wallison has had a great tournament so far using his leg locks. He manages to climb onto one of Lo's legs, Francisco wants to counter from 50/50 - but instead ends up tapping! Wallison Oliveira wins in maybe the biggest upset yet of the round.
Lightweight up - and lightweight done! Wow, in a battle of former gold medalists, Lucas Valente explodes early with the back take and rear naked. He gets the tap! He's back-to-back champ at this event. Now at middle, it's a much more tactical affair after Alexandre de Jesus scores some early advantages. Fabyury snaps into a takedown attempt late, he nearly scores but cannot - Robinho is the champ!
Cole is up now against Julian, one of the most anticipated finals of the day. Cole blows this match open from an advantage-based match to come up on top - and then take the back - he's leading by six with a few minutes left. That will be enough - the destiny is fulfilled, the young prodigy is now the man on top. Cole Abate, World Champion at black belt.
Light-Feather now, with two teammates. They will have the match. Marco is able to come up and score on Zach early. He's maintaining this lead, it's short time left - but with the seconds ticking down Zach is able to pull out the back take! He scores his 4, he wins and is the champion!
Things are kicking off now with rooster - Everton and Lucas Castro. Everton is ahead early by two points, using his top game to really impose his style on the match. Lucas gets a look at a good back take, but they end up out of bounds and he must settle for an advantage. Lucas begins to really open up - but leaves his leg out there! Everton hops onto the inside heel hook and picks up his second title with the submission. He's really starting to make rooster his division.
We are starting with the super-heavies here so Elder can recover before the open class. In a quick slideby and jump, Carrozzino takes the back! Now he's got to hold on, as Elder escapes and is attacking heavy. There's some close calls but Elder can't break through. He ends up dropping into his own heel hook - but nothing. Carrozzino scores a huge upset to beat Elder and win his World title!
Bit of a surprise here at super-heavy; Mayara Moreira has decided to withdraw from the finals for personal reasons. Gabi will become World champion in her division with no matches actually contested.
At medium-heavy, things slow down once Salla Simola gets to her closed guard. Caitlin starts racking up penalties for passivity - and enough for the DQ. While that might not be how she wanted, Salla wins Finland's first black belt World title. At heavyweight, though, things pick up quick - Anabel Lopez and Paige Ivette are being aggressive with their takedown attempts early on. Lopez will end up getting the nod here - representing Spain, the UK, and the DR, she's only 19 years old and holding World gold.
Brianna Ste-Marie takes the mat for her first final of the day - and it won't last long! Mo Black shoots in, BSM finds the neck in transition, and she gets the tap! She's a 2024 World Champion, with a chance to make it double gold later today. Middleweight now up, two of the best leg lockers in women's grappling here. Early double pulls, they are working towards the legs aggressively. Frankland comes up for the advantage but Clay launches into a false reap. She comes up for 2, and evens it up on advantages. Clay will ride things out and win - her fourth World title.
It's a big final here - 18-year-old Cassia Moura against Amanda Canuto. She's able to rack up a ton of advantages and finally scores, wrestling her way to top. Cassia is hanging on with a minute left. She's done it! 18 year old champion, that's got to be a record. She was only a purple belt here last year.
Things have begun! Champions will be crowned and history will be made. To start things off, we actually get a pretty solid finish from rooster Jhenifer Aquino of Atos snatches the arm and gets the tap! What a way to begin the finals! This is her second World title after having to miss last year's event with an injury. Right after, Mayssa takes the mats against Sophia Cassella - and is almost immediately in mount and up by 9. She keeps position, Sophia escapes eventually, but Mayssa is right back to the mount with more points. She ends up scoring 20 on her way to her ninth combined black belt World title.
In our final semifinals of the session, we end up with two upsets! Pan champion Lucas Montalvão just beat Roosevelt, last year's World champion, by a late advantage to make the finals at another major event. On the other mat, it's a close affair that never ends up on the mat but the judges end up favoring Kauan Gomes of Infight to send him to the finals as well. We are all set for the last matches of the session.
One of today's most anticipated semifinals is taking the mat, Marcin Maciulewicz vs Elder Cruz. Marcin pulls and keeps trying to engage the legs, Elder doing a good job preventing and circling. Finally he breaks through on a few passing attempts - enough to score advantages. The match will end there, Elder shut that one down and is into two World finals later today.
Another upset right after as England's Faris Benlamkadem kept things close with Pan champion and exploded late for a near-takedown that made the difference. Faris is an unheralded World finalist, having the best run of his career yet. On the other heavyweight mat, Laranjinha of Six Blades is imposing himself from the top position. Up two, he keeps the pressure up on top to make his first World finals.
Big upset! Sebastian Rodriguez, former champion at this event, just lost by points to Wallison Oliveira. Oliveira wasn't super known coming in but he also beat Manuel Ribamar yesterday, he's having an incredible run. on the other mat at medium-heavy, Francisco Lo imposed his will and his top game to punch his ticket back to the finals.
Men's middleweight is up and it's Fabyury Khrysthyan having to hold on - he's got an advantage lead but his leg is clearly compromised. It comes down to late flurries but he gets it done, the rookie is in the finals! On the other side, Robinho gets the job done using his steady style for success.
Yigit Hanay is up against Gianni Grippo and scores early on a takedown during the guard pull. Yigit is really trying to hold on here, finally Gianni scores his points but he's down an advantage. Because of Yigit's holding, they call him twice of passivity and that gives Gianni the edge - and the win in the final seconds! The referees stepped in but there was a lot of holding through the match. Gianni back to the finals
Lucas Valente and Carlos Henrique are up - two former World champions at this event. Carlos racks up an advantage for the double pull but Lucas racks up three of his own for a new sweep to mount and another near-score. He's up by two advantages and he will look to bleed things out from his closed guard. With about four left, Henrique breaks open the guard, and then gets two advantages off a pair of toe holds. It comes down to the final seconds and Valente hops onto an ankle lock - enough to get the deciding advantage. He's back into the World finals.
Featherweights hit the mat - and Julian Espinosa gets the tap! He sprints his way into a heel hook finish over McNally in under one minute. The Costa Rican black belt is into the finals! He's on fire this weekend. On the other mat, Cole Abate finally takes the mat - all eyes on him here as he faces Marco Mendes of DreamArt. Cole snatches two for a heel hook attempt that rolls out of bounds - then another, he's up by 4. Finally Cole breaks through with a cross ashi and inside heel hook - he gets the tap and is into the finals.
We are off at the final day of No-Gi Worlds and the men's roosters kick us off. Everton Teixiera and Nobuhiro Sawada are our first match up and Everton shows off his top game in a win, racking up a few points and advantages to lock in and make another World finals - in just his second year at black belt. In the other semifinal, it will be Lucas Castro up by two advantages late in an otherwise-tied match. Tran will need to stage a comeback here. Castro is all over him and won't allow it, he makes the finals against Teixeira.
Early drama as Zach Kaina was trailing late by an advantage to Shoya Ishiguro but a near back-take late looks to even that up. They will go to the booth review - it stands and Kaina will win it by decision! The AOJ star is back to the finals, and he will likely be favored. On the other mat, his teammate Marcos Gomes is up by 2 with 2 minutes to go. Even though Rodnei is in on a takedown late, Marcos holds on and will advance to an all AOJ final at light-feather.
