Kaynan Duarte has already done enough to be considered the best grappler of 2024, but he’s not finished with this year. 

The double gold 2024 ADCC Champion in the -99KG and the Absolute divisions headlines the silver anniversary WNO event as WNO 25 from Houston begins at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 4 and streams on FloGrappling and the FloSports app. 

The loaded card also features another double gold champion at ADCC, arguably its biggest breakout star this past August, Adele Fornirno, in a championship match. 

But it’s Duarte who takes on Roberto Jimenez that headlines. Duarte, who is slated to face WNO Heavyweight champion Gordon Ryan at ADCC 2026 in the Superfight, could be eying Ryan’s WNO Heavyweight title after this match. 

But Jimenez is not someone to be taken lightly. The 2023 IBJJF No-Go World Champion and the 2022 ADCC South American Trials Champion has 74 submission wins and a 90-37 record overall.

Duarte is 147-22 with 66 wins. At WNO, Duarte is 1-2 with losses to Nicholas Meregali and Tim Spriggs. He won his WNO debut in 2020 against Rodolfo Vieira.

He is now a four-time ADCC champion having won the -99KG twice in 2024 and 2022, the +99 KG in 2019 and the Absolute Championship in 2024.

Kaynan Duarte earned his back belt under the legendary André Galvão. Roberto Jimenez earned his black belt under Raul Jimenez, his father.
