Max Hanson & Carlos Henrique To Meet In A Rubber Match At WNO 25
After they faced off in the IBJJF No-Gi Worlds & Pans, world-ranked Max Hanson and Carlos Henrique are set to face off at WNO 25
World-ranked lightweights Max Hanson and Carlos Henrique have agreed to meet at WNO 25, in a match that marks the rubber match between these two after a 1-1 start against each other. Carlos defeated Max by points at last year's No-Gi Worlds and they faced off again in the IBJJF No-Gi Pans finals, this time with Max winning gold. Since that match they have had plenty of back-and-forth online - now they get a chance to settle it on the big stage of WNO.
Max Hanson Talks About Carlos After The Pan Finals
Max Hanson is an ADCC, WNO, and WNX veteran who trains out of Adamas Jiu-Jitsu and Pedigo Submission Fighting, a disciple of pound-for-pound talent Dante Leon. He's known for his leg locks and grit, competing in dozens of matches every year. He's now riding the momentum of his first ever IBJJF major championship at black belt. After he won, he revealed he had taken issue with some comments Carlos made after his invitation to ADCC.
"I have a huge respect for Carlos but when I got an invite to ADCC, Carlos and Jon Satava were talking mad s*** online... Carlos was saying that I shouldn't have gotten invited to ADCC. Not to rub it in their face but look who's on the podium now and who's on the sidelines. Usually I'm not like that, but that rubbed me the wrong way and I'm going to remember that forever."
Carlos Henrique is one of the best lightweights in the world as well, and a former IBJJF World No-Gi Champion at black belt. The Alliance representative is already 1-0 on WNO, having beaten the always tough Ben Eddy in 2023, and now he can make a big statement by pushing his record to 2-0 and beating another world-ranked opponent. With the series tied at 1-1, there's a lot on the line for these two when they meet on the WNO mats.
