Gabi Pessanha, the most dominant athlete in Brazilian jiu-jitsu today, has confirmed her participation in the IBJJF's The Crown. Pessanha, who is on a 133-0 undefeated streak, has already broken many of the records in women's jiu-jitsu as she continues to cement herself as perhaps the greatest of all-time. She is the first athlete confirmed for the event.

Pessanha, who won the Crown in 2023, announced that she was accepting the IBJJF's invitation on her official Instagram page.

The Crown is the IBJJF's newest premiere event, featuring only six weight classes (4 men's, 2 women's) to feature the best performing athletes from the gi season. Each bracket is made up of champions and high-level competitors facing off for the cash prize and the right to call themselves the king or queen or their field.

• Men's Middleweight
• Men's Heavyweight
• Men's Ultra-Heavyweight
• Women's Lightweight
• Women's Ultra-Heavyweight
