The favorite in the +99KG, Luke Griffith of New Wave, beat teammateDaniel Manasoiu with a katagame submission at the 2024 ADCC World Championships on Aug. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. 

For the first time at ADCC, teammates faced in the semifinals and it was Griffith who advanced to the finals. In past years, teammates wouldn't face until the finals.
