Josh Saunders, an Australian BJJ star but a relatively unknown competitor in the US, has made headlines at the 2024 ADCC World Championships. On the first day of competition at ADCC 2024, Saunders put Damon Ramos in a rear naked choke only two minutes into their quarterfinal matchup in the +99kg division.

Saunders had already defeated Michael Perez earlier in the day in the first round of the tournament. The Australian is now set up to compete against Felipe Pena in the +99kg semifinals on August 18. Pena will be in the Super Fight against Gordon Ryan on the first day of competition.

Previously, Saunders faced off against Gordon Ryan at WNO 24, where Ryan successfully defended his Heavyweight title, defeating Saunders with a heel hook submission.
