Top Ten Submissions From Day One At ADCC

The first day of ADCC World Championships 2024 is in the books, and the semifinalists have booked their tickets for the second day of competition. You'll notice a few huge names missing from the seminal bracket, including Nicholas Meregali, who was defeated by Michael Pixley in the -99kg division.

Josh Saunders defeated both Michael Perez and Damon Ramos by submission, and sets up with a matchup with BJJ titan Felipe Pena, who himself breezed through the first day of competition. There are still a bevy of notable names left in the men's competition, including JayRod, Mica Galvao, Diego Pato and Luke Griffith.

On the women's side, previous ADCC champions Bia Mesquita and Bianca Basillo both moved on and face Ana Carolina Vieira and Ana Rodrigues, respectively. Amy Campo, a 2022 ADCC champion, also moved on in the +65kg division. Campo will match up against Nathiely de Jesus.
