Felipe Pena started Day 1 of the 2024 ADCC World Championship with a win in his weight class. The question is how many more will he have on Aug. 17 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. 

Pena defeated Brandon Reed in the first round of the +99KG bracket and will face John Hansen n the next round later today. Pena submitted Reed with 1:39 remaining in the match using an armbar.

His day won't be done after that either. Pena will face the reigning Super Fight champion Gordon Ryan to end Day 1 at T-Mobile Arena in the first of two Super Fights this weekend. Pena is 2-1 all-time against Ryan, but lost the last they met in 2022.
