Felipe Pena will be a busy person on Day 1 at the 2024 ADCC World Championships.

The 32-year-old, 2017 ADCC Absolute champion will compete in the +99KG bracket and then face rival Gordon Ryan in the first Superfight of the tournament.

Pena has never won an ADCC bracket outside of the Absolute and has a challenging field that includes 2011 +99 ADCC Champion Vinny Magalhaes, Luke Griffith (ranked No. 5 in the world in the 205+ pound No-gi rankings) and even the 2022 submission of the year winner Haisam Rida.

Griffith, the first European Trials winner, is the favorite in the weight class followed by Pena.

Pena, ranked No. 4 in the 205+ no-gi rankings at FloGrappling, will grapple Ryan for the fourth time in his career to end day 1 of ADCC Worlds.
