Victor Hugo, the No. 3-ranked heavyweight, defeated Javier Zaruski then jokingly called out comedian Shane Gillis.

The No.3-ranked heavyweight in the world made Javier Zaruski submit in one of the more intense matches of the night on June 20 at WNO 24 at the Palmer Event Center in Austin, Texas. 

Hugo headlined WNO 22 earlier this year when he beat Nicky Rodriguez in a decision. He improved to 2-0 at WNO in 2024 and then joking challenged comedian Shane Gillis, who was in the crowd, after the match. 

Against Zaruski, he used a rear naked choke, a popular submission move at WNO 24. The move came with 7:23 left in the match.

WNO 24 is the third Who's Number One of 2024 and one of the last major events before the ADCC World Championships on Aug. 17 and 18 in Las Vegas. The WNO 24 card features 10 current ADCC Trials champions and 12 overall.
