Now, Jonnatas Gracie will step up in his place and face Couch for the belt on June 20th, in Austin, TX. Jacob Couch was originally set to face Francisco Lo in a rematch of their 2023 IBJJF Pan No-Gi match, where Lo won by leg lock. Since then, Couch has dialed in his game and won the ADCC West Coast Trials and beat Sebastian Rodrigues at WNO 22, leading to the title shot. With Lo injured following the IBJJF World Championships, Gracie now steps in to face off for the top prize in the division.
Jonnatas has been very active in no-gi at both 170 and 185lbs recently, picking up wins at ADXC, the UFC Fight Pass Invitiational over Jay Rodriguez and Nicky Ryan, and making the finals of the ADCC South American Trials - and earning himself an invitation to Worlds. This will be his first WNO match since early 2023 when he defeated Oliver Taza.
