Tainan Dalpra, 2-Time IBJJF Champion, Disqualified At IBJJF Worlds 2024
Tainan Dalpra was disqualified in the quarterfinals of the IBJJF Worlds 2024 Middleweight bracket on June 1.
Tainan Dalpra, a two-time IBJJF World Champion in the Adult Black Belt Middleweight class, was stunningly eliminated from 2024 IBJJF Worlds Championship bracket in the quarterfinals on June 1 at The Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif.
The 2021 and 2022 IBJJF World Champion was disqualified by technical decision in his match against Francisco Lo.

Dalpra was disqualified for a "dangerous position on the knee," an illegal reaping motion from the K guard when he pulled the foot outside the line of the knee.
One of the overwhelming favorites to win the IBJJF Middleweight division, Dalpra was the only grappler in the field with a previous Black Belt IBJJF world championship in the class.
He is the No. 3-ranked middleweight Gi grappler in the world. The two other grapplers ranked ahead of him, Mica Galvao and Jansen Gomes, were in the Lightweight and Medium Heavyweight IBJJF weight classes.
The Middleweight semifinals are scheduled for June 2 at 1:18 p.m. EST on mat 1 and mat 2. The final will be on mat 1 at 5:04 p.m. All of Sunday's final action is streaming live on FloGrappling and the FloSports app.
The 2024 IBJJF World Championships are streaming on FloGrappling and the FloSports app starting on May 30 and ends on June 2. Every match replay, highlight and breaking news will be on both platforms.
