The Male and Female Black Belt Absolute action is underway at The Walter Pyramid on Day 3 of the IBJJF World Championships 2024 as some of the best grapplers in the world are attempting to take home two of the most prestigious prizes in BJJ.

The women's absolute field features two brackets of 18 athletes. The semifinals are set with Gabi Pessanha meeting Maria Malyjasiak at 1:35 p.m. EST while Amy Campo faces Yara Soares Do Nascimento at 1:47 p.m.

The winner of those matches will grapple on Sunday.

On the men's side, there are four brackets with 35 athletes competing for the title. There are no returning champions in the men's side, which is not the case for the women's. Pessanha, entering the tournament on a 122-match winning streak, is the defending three-time champion and seeking her fourth straight Absolute title.

Here's what to know about the Absolute field.
