Here Are The All-Time Middle Heavyweight Champions At IBJJF Worlds
List of all the IBJJF Middle Heavyweight class winners since 1996 at IBJJF Worlds including Men's and Women's divisions.
The 2024 Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF World Championships are May 29-June 2, so it's time to recap all of the past winners in all of the weight classes.
Next up it's the Middle Heavyweight class not to be confused with the Heavyweight class or the Middleweight class, the main difference is that the Heavyweight class is over 200lbs or 94.3kg.

Magalhaes is a four-time IBJJF World Champion. He won three of his IBJJF Worlds titles in the Middle Heavyweight division.
IBJJF Middle Heavyweight Champion In 1998: Rafael Correia
This is Correia's first and only IBJJF World Championship title.
IBJJF Middle Heavyweight Champion In 1999 and 2002: Saulo Ribeiro
Ribeiro is a five-time IBJJF World Champion. He earned two of his IBJJF world titles in the Middle Heavyweight division. He also won the 2008 IBJJF No-Gi World Championship.
IBJJF Middle Heavyweight Champion In 2001: Fernando Pontes
This is Pontes' first and only IBJJF World Championship title. He also won the IBJJF Pans Championship in 2000 and 2001.

This is Vernek’s first and only IBJJF World Championship title. The same year he won the IBJJF World Championship he won the IBJJF Pans Championship.

Galvao is a five-time IBJJF World Champion. He won two of his IBJJF Worlds titles in the Middle Heavyweight.
