Tye Ruotolo, the 2022 ADCC Absolute Bronze Medalist, has officially been invited to the 2024 World Championships in the -88kg division.

Tye Ruotolo Officially Invited To ADCC 2024

Tye Ruotolo is officially on his way to the next ADCC World Championships, accepting the organization's invitation to compete in the -88kg division. This will mark Tye's 3rd appearance at the tournament after earning a bronze medal in the absolute class in 2022.

In the two years since the last ADCC, Tye has primarily focused on competing for ONE Championship where he is an undefeated 3-0. He also took bronze at the 2023 IBJJF World Championships in the gi. Tye is currently ranked as the #1 185lb grappler in the world by FloGrappling and top-10 pound-for-pound.

The ADCC made the announcement today via Instagram;

The -88kg division is already packed with talent, with more championship-level grapplers expected to join in the coming weeks & months. The medal stand in 2022 featured Giancarlo Bodoni, Lucas Barbosa, Vagner Rocha, and Eoghan O'Flanaghan. The confirmed division, including the 4 current Trials winners, so far is;

  • Jacob Couch (East Coast Trials winner) | United States
  • Izaak Michell (1st Asia & Oceania Trials winner) | Australia
  • Taylor Pearman (2nd European Trials winner) | England

  • Tye Ruotolo (Invited) | United States

The ADCC World Championships is slated for Aug. 17-18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, streaming exclusively on FloGrappling.
