With Ffion Davies out of her WNO 22 title match, Amanda "Tubby" Alequin will now face late replacement Adele Fornarino
An injury has unfortunately forced a chance to the WNO 22 main card, as WNO women's flyweight champion Ffion Davies must withdraw from her planned title defense against Amanda "Tubby" Alequin. Instead now, Tubby has agreed to face 2023 IBJJF No-Gi Worlds brown belt open class champion Adele Fornarino on just a few week's notice.

Alequin was most recently in action at Tezos WNO 18, defeating ADCC Trials winner Alex Enriquez. Tubby is one of the best female grapplers in the world, winning ADCC Trials, IBJJF No-Gi Worlds & Pans, and defeating some of the best in the world at her weight. She first rose to notoriety when facing Gabi Garcia at the ADCC World Championships, taking the much larger champion to a closely contested decision.
Adele Fornarino, ranked no.4 in the world, has been steadily rising with her aggressive, submission-oriented style. Adele recently won the -55kg division at the first ADCC Asian & Oceanic Trials. This match marks her WNO debut.
