The Crown Completes Their Divisions With 4 At Ultra-Heavyweight
The IBJJF's The Crown will feature Erich Munis, Joao Gabriel Rocha, Victor Honorio, and Roosevelt Souza at the ultra-heavyweight division.
With a little over a month until the debut of the prestigious gi event, IBJJF's The Crown, the federation has announced the four competitors who will be competing in the men's ultra-heavyweight division. This marks the last division to be filled.
The four athletes who will be vying for The Crown are:
- Erich Munis, 3-time World Champion, 2023 World Absolute Runner-Up
- Joao Gabriel Rocha, 2-time Pan Champion, 3-time World Medalist
- Roosevelt Souza, 2023 Pans Medalist
- Victor Honorio, 2023 Brazilian Nationals double medalist
These 4 champions will be competing in the ultra-heavyweight class, with no weight limit. Erich Munis will enter as the favorite given his recent success, but the rest have proven themselves to be tough tests for anyone.
The Crown is the IBJJF's new premier event, debuting in 2023, where they will run only 6 divisions with invited athletes. Those black belts are the best of the best, and whoever wins will earn not only $15,000 but also their rightful claim to being one of the best pound-for-pound on Earth.
Tune in on Nov. 19 where all the action will be streamed live exclusively on FloGrappling.
