The mega event in São Paulo will feature an 8-woman GP for $20k, and several high voltage superfights including Diogo Reis vs Samuel Nagai.
BJJ Stars is set to host another mega event this Saturday, Sept. 9, in the city of São Paulo.
The 11th edition will take place at the Pacaembu Gymnasium and promises another great jiu-jitsu spectacle. The main attraction of the night will be the women's heavyweight GP, which will award the champion with a prize of $ 20,000. In addition to the Grand Prix, six matched fights will spice up the event.
The organization revealed the GP brackets on Friday, and the matchups are exciting. Talents from the new generation have been paired against more experienced and highly skilled athletes, and the expectation is for intense battles until the final. The favorite in the competition, Gabi Pessanha, will face Carina Santi, while Tayane Porfírio will take on Welma Moreira. Yara Soares will face Mikaela de Lima, and Melissa Cueto will battle Tamiris Silva.
Tension and anticipation have taken over the Pacaembu Pavilion. Coaches and athletes attended the press conference and the official weigh-in at the gym. The rivalry between teams was evident, and the athletes continued to generate interest in the matches.
